The Benefits of Building with CHB Homes  -  Build on our lot or your lot.

We are proud to offer homebuyers new homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR ® label. ENERGY STAR ® qualified new homes are at least 30% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC). Even in states with more rigorous energy codes, the U.S. EPA ensures that ENERGY STAR remains the symbol for truly energy-efficient performance. Our ENERGY STAR qualified new homes are independently verified by a third party home energy rater to ensure they meet ENERGY STAR energy efficiency guidelines. These homes are superior in their construction and better for the environment and better for you. First and only builder in Thomasville, Valdosta and South Georgia area building Energy star with Go Green.

Our Green Custom Homes Vs. Other Builders Custom Homes:
Other builders and franchise companies like to use the word "custom and quality" on their website and on their ADs in the paper but CHB Homes are the true and only luxury custom home builders and we can prove it by offering any home buyer $1,500 if they can find a home with all of the same custom features as our homes in the South Georgia area. The word “Custom” is being degraded by other builders who don’t have an inkling of the meaning.

Building a Team

By building a team of professionals at the start, you can avoid some common pitfalls in which people often find themselves when they decide to build a custom home. While this list is not meant to be exhaustive, it is intended to help get you started in the right direction and give you a better idea of what to expect. Before choosing a lot, or a particular plan or style for your home, we recommend building the team of individuals that you will work with and for you. That team includes you, your builder, architect, engineer, and interior decorator.  All this can be found within CHB homes which will endure that your home will be constructed above code and with 100% on-site supervision.

Build Smart

A simple place to start is size. Smaller homes require fewer resources to construct and less energy to heat and cool. Smaller floor plans also cost less, which allows clients to choose finer finish materials that would have been cost prohibitive on a bigger project.

What is Home Sustainability

The Signature Features of our homes are anything but standard. When you buy a CHB Signature Home,
you'll enjoy high-end appliances, fixtures, unique interior and exterior design elements, quality materials, craftsmanship throughout the construction process. Our smart home technology features and Energy Star certified homes you'll get a home built like no other in Thomasville, Valdosta or South Georgia Area. We are the true first smart home and energy star builder in the South Georgia area. When you walk into a CHB Home is like walking into no other home you have ever walked in. Sustainable homes will always maintain your personal comfort level without the need to play yo-yo with your thermostat.

Lot Selection
Your builder and architect can be of invaluable assistance in selecting the right lot for your dream home. You can save literally tens of thousands of dollars by asking your builder to estimate the cost of the site preparation before you purchase, and allow your architect to review the restrictions outlined in the Design Review Guidelines that go with the subdivision in which you are interested. Your builder and architect will ask the questions and find the answers to many of the issues that may not have occurred to you. CHB Homes offers our services with no obligation to help you select the best lot for your dream home. We firmly believe that involving your Building Team at the beginning; before the purchase of your lot will help you achieve optimum results in the construction of the home as well as save you time and money.

Design

Once your lot has been purchased, you are ready to embark on the creative process of putting your dreams to paper. This part of custom home building involves the delicate balance of what you want, what you need, and what your budget will allow. It is wise to manage all three aspects so that there are no unhappy surprises or last minute changes. Your builder and architect will consult with you regularly to shape the design and the construction of the home. Your interior designer should be involved at this stage to give input as to the types of finishes and furniture arrangements that will work well in each room, and how they will tie together. It is during this phase that your home takes a shape and form on paper, details are outlined from the foundation to the size and shape of the kitchen sink.

Costing

Your builder will manage this portion of the process for you by selecting proven tradesmen that bring solid value to the project. Without proper pre-planning, it's not unusual to learn that the dream home you envisioned costs more than what you had planned for in your budget. Be sure to understand the entire scope of the quoted price-what it covers and what it doesn't. Some builders will quote prices that do not reflect the total picture of all costs involved.  At CHB Homes, we use comprehensive cost analysis which includes all aspects of the construction, so that there are no unhappy surprises later. It's far better to deal with costs at this stage than when the job is finished and you're presented with unexpected bills.

Construction

This is the beginning of the dream becoming a reality! Your builder should be driving the process at this stage, dealing with tradesmen, inspections, and the overall construction process. By the time this phase has begun, most of the difficult work is over. You've made the tough decisions; now it's time to enjoy watching your home take shape and become a reality. If you have chosen your team carefully, this process is the most gratifying as you can see the progress made on a weekly or even daily basis. At CHB Homes, makes sure the quality of work provided by the various tradesmen involved meets our standards, and keep you informed of the progress via weekly email or phone updates and, pictorial updates. Your final walk through will be conducted with your builder and in many cases, your architect and interior designer. Have your list of questions handy so that you can note the proper operations of all the special features of your home.

Custom Builder & Universal Design

Universal design is the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.

Green Built

Green building is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use and harvest energy, water, and materials, and reducing building impacts on human health and the environment, through better sitting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal — the complete building life cycle.

Realtor Awareness of Energy Star Homes

Recent comments by local Realtors stating Energy Star homes need to be competitive to standard homes are unaware on how Energy star homes are designed and built. Real Estate professionals must learn the basics of energy-efficient features and use them with prospective buyers increasing awareness. This further increases the value of the real estate professional because if they are knowledgeable, they can point out energy saving features and benefits the buyer might enjoy.  Real estate professionals separate themselves from the rest by being better able to communicate a home’s true value.
